Description of Design Project

Charles Chappell is a sixth-grade history teacher. He is reviewing educational websites for information he can use in his classroom.


  1. The following information is about the Library of Congress website: http://www.loc.gov
  2. Which fonts are used for the main content on the home page?: font-family: sans-serif;
    Are the same fonts used consistently on the other pages of the site?: Yes they all link to the same external style sheet.
  3. Do you see ordered or unordered lists on any pages in the site? Yes, though it isn't obvious from looking at the web pages. E.g., on http://www.loc.gov/discover/ the links on the web page are structures as unordered lists. The unordered lists are styled too not look like lists.
  4. The style sheet used for the web site is http://www.loc.gov/static/stylesheets/base.css
  5. Do you see the use of Cascading Style Sheets noted in the source code?: Besides the base.css style sheet used in the html pages of the web site, there are style sheets that are linked to by base.css also.
